What are Some of the Responsibilities
and the Role
of a Unity Church of Prescott Chaplain?
The Unity Church of Prescott Chaplains are spiritual
leaders who raise consciousness through prayer by expressing love, spirituality and integrity.
We are committed to demonstrating an active commitment to Unity Principles and Beliefs in our daily
lives. Among our responsibilities are the following:
To make "Wellness Calls" (lasting approximately 3
to 5 minutes) to those assigned, on a monthly basis. To
listen, and pray with all concerned, for their highest
good, and to hold everything shared in "strict confidence."
To provide prayer support following the 9:00 AM and
11:00 AM Sunday Services at least once a month for
those who would like one-on-one prayer support in a
confidential setting.
To give names to the Lay Ministry for further prayer
support after prayer with someone, if requested.
To inform either Rev. Tom Catlin or Rev. Charli
Tupper when an issue arises that is out of the realm of a
Chaplain.
To make a one-year commitment to the members of
Unity Church of Prescott who have requested a Chap-
lain.
Sometimes a Chaplain may be assigned the name of
a friend as "Chaplainee." It is the Chaplain’s responsibility to keep a special
type of boundary as she/he makes the monthly "Wellness Calls." What this means
is that when the monthly Chaplain phone call is made, a prayer request is
answered. Any other social or personal exchange between the Chaplain and Chaplainee
is reserved for a separate personal telephone call or visit.
If you are a member and would like to have a Chaplain, please call Rev. Charli, 445-1850.
